The Bay Hammock Company

A few weeks ago we spent a day with Mike Leonard of the NBC Today Show. We had a great time showing him around the area on a cold and blustery day. Next time we hope he comes in the summer . The result is that the Peggy's Cove Area and Bay Hammocks were featured on the NBC Today Show during their very excellent coverage of the Olympic Games in Vancouver. There is a brief commercial at the start of the video (very clever advertising on Samsung's part) but keep watching for our piece.

This EarthFriendly hammock has been in development for a while and is now ready for you to enjoy.

We wanted to make it totally earth friendly and the most comfortable spot possible for you to kick back and relax, so this is what we did:

1. We make the rope used in this hammock from Repreve polyester yarn, a fiber that is manufactured from recycled plastic. For every 1 lb. of Repreve polyester yarn produced, 50,000 BTUs are conserved, the equivalent of about 2 litres of gasoline.

2. The maple spreader bar is finished with organic flax seed oil from Foxmill, an oil producer just down the road from our shop, in Indian Harbour.
